I found the brilliant Artist's Survival Kit through one of my favorite blogs, Freshie and Zero, and printed it out right away to hang on my bulletin board. This is a free download from artist Keri Smith with helful tips and advice for artists reminding us to keep our heads up and not lose our sense of humor when we're feeling frustrated or uninspired. I think everyone can benefit from this advice, whether or not they are artists (although I think everyone is an artist of something!). Hopefully you find this as helpful (and funny) as I did!!
Here is my favorite tip (because I end up feeling like this at least once a week):

I love this. My other job does not "fulfill" me completely, but pays the bills and comes closer that any other "real" job I could get. (I can't wait to retire and do what I love full time.) This card is going on the outside of my cube.
Maybe the whole "cube farm" aspect of the job is part of the non-fulfillment. Hmmm. . .
It is seriously one of the most artistically inspirational and un-cheesy things I have ever found! I printed it out and tied a little ribbon around it for a few other artists at the gallery where I work part time, and they were so happy! Keri Smith is so sweet to give it away for free.
She really is! I love this and have it hanging on the wall at home and at work...leave it to you to find something this cool! Thanks!!
